GATE Eligibility Criteria By Qualifying Degree:

  • If a candidate’s qualifying degree is B.E./ B.Tech or B.Pharm., the qualifying degree or examination given should be Bachelor of Engineering / Technology (4 years after 10+2 or 3 years after B.Sc. / Diploma in Engineering / Technology).   • If a candidate’s qualifying degree is a Master’s degree in any branch of Arts/Science/Mathematics/Statistics/Computer Applications or equivalent, the qualifying degree or examination given should be a Master’s degree in any branch of Arts/Science/Mathematics/Statistics/Computer Applications or equivalent. Only those who are currently in their first year or have completed their studies are eligible. The projected year for the degree to be completed is 2023.
  • If a candidate’s qualifying degree is an International Master of Engineering/ Technology (Post-B.Sc.) or similar, the qualifying degree or examination offered should be a Post-B.Sc Integrated Master’s degree programme in Engineering/ Technology (4-year program). Only applicants who are currently in any year are eligible. Any year is a good guess for when the degree will be completed.
